Burke, John J. (Jack) of Walpole, formerly of Westwood, October 24, 2010. Beloved husband of Mary P. (O’Brien) Burke for 53 years. Loving father of Stephen J. Burke and wife Debbie, Mary C. Johnson and husband Dave, Kevin G. Burke and wife Donna, and Carol A. Fitzpatrick and husband Eric. Dear Papa to Alison and Michael Burke, Caitlan, Meghan, Christopher and Lauren Johnson, Erin and John Burke, and Julia and Liam Fitzpatrick. Funeral from Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole Street, Norwood, MA 02062, on Friday October 29th at 9:00 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret Mary’s Church, Westwood at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours at the Funeral Home on Thursday, October 28th from 4-8 P.M. Interment with military honors @ The New Westwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jack’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Graduated in 1957 from Tufts University with a BS in Electrical Engineering. Held senior management and executive positions at multiple organizations, most notably at General Electronics Laboratory, Smithsonian Institution and Aerospace Research Inc. Served as a member of the U.S Navy and U.S Marine Corps. Longtime member of Walpole Country Club, Founder and Chairman of the “B MINUS“ group, Member of the Norwood Elks and Canton Barbershoppers.
