John A. Hubbard

John A. Hubbard, 92, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 15, 2026, at the Care Dimensions Hospice House in Lincoln, Massachusetts.

Born in Glendive and raised in Wolf Point, Montana, John was the son of the late Arthur Burr Hubbard and June Bernis Culver. After graduating from Wolf Point High School, he attended St. Olaf College in Minnesota, where he was a standout on the basketball court, a talent he carried into his service with the United States Navy. He later earned his MBA from Northeastern University and went on to a long career as a Purchasing Manager for Polaroid in Cambridge and Waltham.

John stayed active well into his early 80s as a member of both the Wellesley and Waltham Tennis Associations. He loved to travel and enjoyed time at the casinos. When he wasn’t working on his homes in New Hampshire and on Cape Cod, he could often be found strolling along the waterfront in Boston’s North End. Never far from his Montana roots, he took great pride in his collection of Western bronzes and boots. Known to his friends as “Hub”, John was famous for his sense of humor. He loved making people laugh and was always ready to offer a “libation.”

John was the beloved husband of Elizabeth Fuchs. He was the devoted father of Mark Hubbard and his wife Kim of Champaign, IL, and Kristin Hubbard of Florida, and stepfather of Cara Fuchs and her husband Seth Morrison of Wrentham, MA. He was the brother of the late Kendall Hubbard and his wife Shirley, proud uncle to Samuel Hubbard of Montana and Nicholas Rodrigues of Lincoln, RI and grandfather to Max Hubbard. He will also be lovingly remembered by his many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Services will be private and are in the care of Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole Street, Norwood. John will be laid to rest at his family’s ranch in Montana at a later date.
