

HURLEY, Joseph F., 92, of Walpole, formerly a longtime resident of Norwood, Friday, March 7, 2014. Born in Boston, September 13, 1921, he was the son of the late Joseph F. and Pauline (Dittler) Hurley. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was a pressman for many years for the Boston Post, Boston Herald and Boston Globe, until his retirement from there. Joe was the beloved husband of the late, Claire M. (Green) Hurley and Helen (Brunet) Hurley, the loving father of Richard J. Hurley and his wife, Jean of Abington, and Mark F. Hurley of Bristol, RI, the dear brother of the late Paul E. Hurley, the cherished grandfather of Rachael C. and her husband, Thomas Genova of Hudson, Maureen S. and her husband, Eric Maiuri of Grafton, Jennifer Pollard and her husband, James Pollard of Amesbury and Christopher Hurley of Bristol, RI. Joe was the also the cherished great-grandfather of 7 great- grandchildren and the uncle of several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, March 12, at 9:00 AM from the Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole St., (Rt. 1A) NORWOOD, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at St. Timothy Church, 650 Nichols St., Norwood. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery, Norwood. Calling hours for family only will be held on Tuesday, March 11th from 5:00-8:00pm at the funeral home.
