Josephine Mary Cohen

Josephine Mary (Giammalvo) Cohen, 82, of Norwood passed away July 3, 2022. Born January 29, 1940 in the Roxbury section of Boston to Ignazio and Agnes (Accardi) Giammalvo. She was the beloved wife of the late, George Cohen and mother of the late, Georgie Cohen.

Josephine was avid in the Norwood Senior Center and enjoyed bowling for the St. Timothy’s Women’s Norwood League for 35 years. She loved her trips to the casino and her luncheons with friends. Above all else, she loved her family the most.

Josephine is survived by her loving children, Marie Clifford and her husband Dennis of Norfolk, Richard Cohen of Taunton, Joseph Cohen and his wife Robyn of Encinitas, CA, and Steven Cohen and his wife Heather of Franklin; her kind siblings, Anna Azar of Weymouth and Peter Giammalvo of Quincy; her adored grandchildren William Clifford and his wife Laurie, Jacqueline Lothrop and her husband Joseph, Samantha Cohen, Sabrina Cohen, Sophia Cohen, George Cohen, and Calum Cohen; her cherished seven great- grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Josephine was predeceased by her dear siblings, Theresa Davis and Bernie Giammalvo.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 14, 2022 at Gillooly Funeral Home from 9:00am to 10:00am. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30am at St. Timothy Church with interment to follow at Highland Cemetery.
