Marie J. Cleary

CLEARY, MSN, RN, Marie J. (Gugliotta) of Hopkinton and formerly of Norwood passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones on Thursday January 1, 2026, she was 82.

Born in Norwood, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Jennie (McKenzie) Gugliotta. Marie was a graduate of Norwood High School with the class of 1961. She earned her BS of Nursing from Boston University in 1965 and her MSN from Regis College in 1999. A cardiac care nurse, Marie went on to educating the next generation and retired as Director of Nursing Education for Leonard Morse Hospital in Natick, after a long prestigious career.

Marie was the beloved wife of the late James J. “Jim” Cleary, and the devoted mother of Priscilla Cleary, Gregg Cleary, and Todd Cleary and his wife Pam all of Buckatunna, MS, and Cheryl-Ann Riggin of Hopedale. She was the sister of John Gugliotta and his wife Heidi of E. Falmouth, and the late Anthony Gugliotta. She was the proud grandmother of Charlie Riggin, Andrew Ard, Justin Cleary and his wife Jaclyn, Sarah (Cleary) and her husband Alex Coleman, and great-grandmother of Anna and Hulon Cleary, and Adeline Coleman. Marie is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visiting Hours in the Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole Street (Rt. 1A), NORWOOD, will be on Thursday January 8, from 10 AM – 12 PM prior to the Funeral Service in the Funeral Home at 12 Noon. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery, Norwood.
