Mary T. O'Connor

Mary T. O'Connor, 81, of Norwood, passed away on November 11, 2025, surrounded by family. Mary was a lifelong resident of Norwood and a parishioner of St. Catherine of Siena Parish, where she was a daily communicant for most of her life.

Born to the late Stephen O'Connor and Mary (Ward) O'Connor, Mary was predeceased by her brothers, the late Peter O’Connor and John O'Connor. She is survived by her loving sister Patricia Dolan of West Yarmouth and her sister-in-law, Kathleen O’Connor of Lakeville; her nephew, Stephen O'Connor and his wife Mary Kaitlin of Walpole; and nieces, Theresa and her husband Daniel Hopkins of Lakeville, and Christine and her husband Andrew Sniezak of Germantown, Tennessee. In addition, she leaves three great nieces and a nephew, Kelsey, Kayla, Lindsey Hopkins, and Richard Sniezak; along with several cousins.

Mary attended St. Catherine of Siena School in Norwood and graduated from St. Clare High School in Roslindale. She later attended Northeastern University during the evenings and weekends, proudly earning her bachelor’s degree. For forty years, Mary was a dedicated and valued employee of the Norwood Cooperative Bank where she enjoyed working with a great group of colleagues and forged lifelong friendships. Her friends from the bank were a source of joy and comfort for Mary. Mary was an avid Boston sports fan, and she especially loved cheering for the Boston Red Sox.

Visitation in the Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole St. (Rt.1A) NORWOOD on Friday, November 21, 2025 from 9:30-10:30AM. Funeral Mass in St. Catherine of Siena Parish, 547 Washington St., Norwood at 11AM. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery, Norwood.
