Richard J. McQuillan

McQUILLAN, Richard J., of Walpole, former longtime Norwood resident, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2014. He was 93 years of age. Mr. McQuillan was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Army.

Beloved husband of the late Martha (Rodenhaver) McQuillan; loving father of Christine A. McQuillan, Patrick J. McQuillan and his wife Jody, Erin M. McQuillan, Therese M. Biscoe and her husband Mark, and Drenan M. McQuillan and his wife Rachael; cherished grandfather of Ries J. and Casey C. McQuillan, Timothy J., Daniel M. and Ellie R. Biscoe, Annabelle M., Desmond J. and Augustus J. McQuillan; devoted brother of David McQuillan and the late Helena Klett, Louise Connolly, John McQuillan, Barbara Daley, Claire Shannon, Paul McQuillan, Alma McAuley and Jane Sweeney. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Some say the quality of a person’s life is measured by the friendships one creates; viewed from this perspective, Richard McQuillan had a truly rich life.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 4th at 9:00am from the Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole Street (Rte. 1A), Norwood, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Timothy’s Church, 650 Nichols Street, Norwood. Interment will follow the Mass in Highland Cemetery, Norwood. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Tuesday, June 3rd from 4:00-7:00pm at the funeral home.
