

Robert W. Cormier, “Mustache,” 82, of Boston, formerly of Norwood, passed away peacefully after a brief illness, surrounded by family, on November 19, 2025. Born in Quincy, Mass., he was the son of the late Hector J. and Mary E. (McNamara) Cormier.
He was a graduate of St. Catherine of Siena School and Cathedral High School (1961). A Sergeant in the United States Army Signal Corps, he served as a radio teletype operator in Korea during the Vietnam War and later worked as a foreman for DB&S Lumber Co. on Gerard St. in Boston until he retired in 2017. Robert valued hard work, honesty, family, and his independence. He was an avid letter writer and photographer and had a variety of interests, including music, movies, and history. He showed his love for his family in quiet ways and instilled in his daughters a love of reading, learning, nature, and environmental stewardship.
He is survived by his daughters Michele T. Cormier (Christine Langill) of Plymouth, Cheri R. Cormier of Westfield, Danielle D. Cormier of Norwood, Tracy E. LaPierre (Matthew) of Bellingham; his granddaughter Ella M. LaPierre; his siblings Margaret “Peggy" Kady (Paul) of NH, Gerard P. Cormier (Sara) of Mansfield, John F. Cormier (Cheryl) of FL, Richard A. Cormier of Norwood; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Services were held privately with the assistance of the Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole St. (Rt.1A) NORWOOD. A Memorial Service will be held in the future at a date to be determined.
