Robert F. Creesy, 85, of Norwood, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday February 20, 2024, with family by his side.
He was the loving husband of Mary Anne (Frangiosa) Creesy of Norwood, who survives him. He was previously the husband of the late Ann Marie (Desautels) Creesy who predeceased him in 1989.
Born in Beverly, Massachusetts on July 31, 1938, the son of the late Augustus and the late Georgia (Hammond) Creesy, he was a graduate of Beverly High School in the class of 1956 and later attended the New York Ranger School in Wanakena, New York. Robert proudly served his country in the United States National Guard during the Cuban Missile Crisis.
Prior to his retirement, Bob worked as a Stockroom manager for Ad-A-Day Company in Taunton. Previously, he was a devoted Land Surveyor and Forester for the New England Forestry Foundation in Vermont, where he found this to be one of his greatest passions. Amongst his many enjoyments, Bob had a love for gardening. Especially in the summertime where he could tend to the flowers, alongside doing yard work to keep the greenery maintained. He was an avid woodworker who could be found most often spending his time in the workshop creating hand carved gifts for those he loved. He was also known for his “jokester” personality and love for traveling. Above all else, Bob loved spending time with his family and more so, time with his beloved grandchildren, in whom he was very dedicated too.
In addition to his wife Mary, Bob is survived by a son: Scott Creesy, and his wife Jennifer of Taunton, and their four children Carter, Brendan, Patrick and Adam; four children Eleanor Slye and her husband Christopher of Glen, New Hampshire, and their two sons Daniel and Nicholas; Catherine Tarbokas and her husband William of Dennis, and their three children Samantha, William, and Elizabeth; Sandra Doherty and her husband James of Westwood, and their two children Bridget and Cameron; James Campbell and his wife Laura of Brewster, and their three children Matthew, Kevin, and Heather; He was the brother of the late William A. Creesy and is survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
A Funeral Service will be held in the Trinity Community Church, 234 Walpole Street, Norwood on Saturday March 23, 2024 at 10:30 AM.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Bob's memory to St. Jude Children's Hospital, see www.stjude.org.
