

Robert Charles “Terry” Terelak Sr., age 78, of Norwood, passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2025. Born in Hyde Park, MA, on February 9, 1947 he was the son of the late John Terelak and Stephanie (Sobachenski) Terelak.
Terry graduated from Hyde Park High School in 1964. He joined the Navy and served on the USS Ticonderoga during the Vietnam War. After his military service, Terry was a jack of all trades. He worked for the United States Postal Service, but also worked as a carpenter and took many side jobs to supplement the family income. Terry was a talented gardener, talented with both woodworking and stained glass, he could best just about anyone at Cribbage, he loved the Beatles and The Rolling Stones, and above all, a good party.
Robert was the husband of the late Joan (Nashawaty) Terelak. He was the father of the late Robert C. “Bobby” Terelak Jr. He is survived by his son Michael Terelak and his wife Pamela of South Carolina, his brother John Terelak and his wife Pat of Rockport, MA, his sister Patricia Beneski of Colorado, and his grandchildren, Ashton Terelak of Connecticut, and Dylan Terelak and Audrey Terelak of South Carolina. Terry is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and countless close friends more like family.
Visiting Hours in the Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole St, (Rt.1A) NORWOOD, on Monday, August 18, 2025, from 10:30AM – 1:30PM. Words of Remembrance in the Funeral Home at 12:30PM. Graveside Ceremony will be held following at Highland Cemetery, Norwood.
