Samantha Amy Kemp, age 38, of Dedham, passed away on September 25, 2025.
Samantha was born in Boston Massachusetts on June 25, 1987, to Catherine Gleason Kemp and Bradford Hathaway Kemp.
Preceded in death by her grandparents, Harun Mustin, late of Norwood, and Leatrice and Phillip Kemp late of Palmyra, NY, she is survived by her grandmother, Eleanor Mustin of Norwood, her parents Catherine Gleason Kemp of Millis and Bradford H. Kemp of Milton; her brother Benjamin A. Kemp; her Aunts, Joanne Gleason of Norwood and Sarah E. Kemp of Washington, D.C.; her Uncle Jonathan Kemp of Palmyra NY, and her cousins Sidney Hong and Kevin Hong. Beloved Fiancé of Jackson Burnes of Dedham.
Samantha grew up in Millis, but found her home in Boston. She earned her bachelor’s degree from UMass Dartmouth before earning her Juris Doctorate from Suffolk University. As an Attorney in Boston, Sam found her calling in defending those in need of protection. She started her own law firm and was a committed animal rights activist. She advocated for the well-being of our pets both inside and outside the courtroom and was rarely seen without her own dog Boss (Boston Terrier, now deceased) and doctor Niles Crane (French Bulldog).
Born with an unbreakable will, Sam was not afraid of forging her own path. She will be remembered for how courageously she lived and how deeply she loved.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Gillooly Funeral Home 126 Walpole Street (Rt. 1A) NORWOOD on Friday, October 10, from 4-8 PM, and again on Saturday beginning at 9:30 AM, prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Timothy’s Church, Norwood, at 10:30. Interment will follow at Brookdale Cemetery, Dedham.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Samantha's memory to the MSPCA, see https://www.mspca.org/adoption-centers/boston-adoption-center/
