Stephen T. Hefferan

Dedicated father, uncle and friend, Stephen “Huck” Hefferan was a proud resident of Norwood, MA who could be found at the Norwood Library with a story and a smile. Proud alumnus of Boston College who served his country during the Korean War, Stephen retired from a career he loved at the Norfolk County Sherriff’s Department

He was the beloved husband of the late Rita (Toohey) Hefferan; loving father of Maura Patriarca and her husband Michael of Swampscott, Stephen M. Hefferan of North Bend, Washington, and Sarah Rine and her wife Heather of Melrose; cherished grandfather of Jason Last, Amanda Marvin, Victoria Marvin, Alexander Pereira, Megan Hefferan, Stephen Hefferan, Brody Hefferan, Dean Hefferan, Charlie Hefferan, and Jackson Rine; devoted brother of the late Eleanor Monahan and Dorothy Kelley. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 15th at 9:00am from the Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole Street (Rte. 1A), Norwood, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Catherine of Siena Church, 547 Washington Street, Norwood. Interment will be private in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Friday, September 14th from 4:00 – 8:00pm.
