Thomas P. Martin Jr.
March 16, 1934 – April 4, 2019
Martin, Thomas P., Jr. “Spike”, of Marshfield, formerly of Norwood, passed away unexpectedly, April 4, 2019.
Beloved son of the late Thomas P. Martin and Josephine (Nee) Martin. Loving brother of Ruth Chamberlain and her husband Kenneth of Middleboro and the late Patricia Johnson, Marie Vito, Barbara Martin and Joseph Martin. Adored uncle of Donna DePari and her husband Charles of FL, Dana (Chamberlain) DeLongchamps and her husband Michael of Plymouth, Kenneth Chamberlain, Jr. and his wife Naomi of NH, Todd Chamberlain of N. Attleboro, Deborah Anderson and her husband Scott of TX, Elizabeth Bankhead and her husband Bryan of TX, Niki Atchieson and her husband Simon of Australia and Katherine Martin of the US Navy. He is also survived by many loving relatives and friends.
Thomas, a recipient of 3 Bronze Stars and the Medal of Honor, proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was well known on the horse racing circuit and travelled up and down the East Coast training race horses. He was a proud member of the Massachusetts Thoroughbred Horsemen’s Association. In his spare time, he loved relaxing as he fed his beloved birds who visited his yard daily as well as watching his favorite television shows, Gunsmoke, Wagon Train and, of course his passion, horse racing.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Committal Service with military honors in HIghland Cemetery, 320 Winter Street, Norwood, Thursday, April 25th at 2PM.
