SAVIGE, Ann B., 86, passed away January 12, 2022 at BrightView Senior Living in Nottingham, Maryland. Ann was born on June 22, 1935, the only child of Cleo and Sherman Barnes in Fort Pierce, Florida. She graduated from Miami Edison Senior High School and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Florida State University. Ann met the love of her life, Homer Savige, at FSU. Six months later, they wed and were happily married for 57 years. They made a home in Rome, Georgia and had two children: David and Marian. In 1968, they moved to Tucker, Georgia. Ann enjoyed 25-year long career as a secretary at Panasonic Atlanta. She began as a temporary switchboard operator and was soon hired full time as Secretary to the Human Resources Manager. Her happiest and most proud years in her career were when she was promoted to Executive Secretary for the Southeast Regional President of Panasonic. In 1995, Ann and Homer retired to Sun City Center, Florida and they were fortunate to enjoy many years together there. When Homer passed away in 2014, Ann and her beloved cat Tigger moved to Baltimore, Maryland to be closer to family. Ann was a gregarious, clever, bubbly person who loved her family and friends whole heartedly. She was an animal lover, an excellent writer, and a talented pianist and a choral singer. Ann is survived by her son, David; daughter, Marian; grandchild, Sylvie Ann Shrum; son-in-law, Glenn Shrum; sister-in-law, Priscilla (Savige) Keels, and many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held this summer at Willow View Cemetery in Clifford, PA, where Ann will rest in peace next to her husband, Homer. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gilchrist Hospice and The Humane Society.
