Antoinette Margaret Gonzalez

Antoinette Margaret Grzymala Gonzalez ("Toni") passed away in Baltimore, Maryland on January 28, 2024, while surrounded by loving family members. She was born in Baltimore on June 7, 1934 to John and Bertha Grzymala. She went to Patterson Park High School and then attended nursing school at the University of Maryland. Following her marriage, she worked as a nurse and office manager for her husband's medical practice and raised seven wonderful children.

She was an energetic and creative woman, and she understood the value of education and the arts in the upbringing of her kids. She was strong in her Catholic faith and attended the Sunday Mass with her family at Saints Philip and James Catholic Church.

She spent the last twenty years of her nursing career as an Ambulatory Surgery nurse at the Johns Hopkins Bayview campus. Following her retirement, she enjoyed traveling to distant lands (Europe, Thailand, Vietnam, Russia, and China) as well as socializing at local senior centers, where she took joy in playing bingo and visiting local casinos.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her siblings, John, Stanley, Felix, and Thaddeus Grzymala and is survived by her sisters, Joanna Sercus and Bertha Duket. She leaves behind five sons, Luis, Billy, Raymond, Alex, and Charles Gonzalez and two daughters, Marjorie Blackwell and Maria Anderson, as well as eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The funeral service for Antoinette will be held on Thursday, February 22, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Saints Philip and James Catholic Church, 2801 N. Charles Street, Baltimore MD 21218. She will be laid to rest that afternoon at Gardens of Faith Memorial Gardens in Rosedale, Maryland.
