i will always remember you for your kindness.
I first met Toni when i was 10. Andy and i became friends from about the first day he came here from Poland. I spent so much of my youth at the garage. Just being kids, i learned so many life lessons around that garage.

Though I never had the chance to personally meet you I've heard much about you. If your positive influence on Paul Sauer and Roy Plummer are any indication of your personality I'm sure you'll be greatly missed by all you have met in you life time.

Toni was a wonderful & special person.  I am blessed, proud & honored to have knew such a GREAT MAN my entire life.  He taught me (and I believe ALL of us) the importance of hard work, honesty, thoughtfulness, brevity, caring & giving of yourself just to name a few.  He would give you the shirt off his own back!
He was smart, brillant, talented, a gifted businessman, proud of his Polish Heritage, fearless, full of energy, & loved life to the max.  For him, the glass was ALWAYS FULL.  He was a "trailblazer" & ahead of his time.
I'm saddened that you are no longer with us, but I'm glad you touched & affected so many people's lives so positively & profoundly.  I/we all thank you. 
Toni is now in a better place, where the firewood never runs out, fixing VW's, reunited with Bozenna, Nadia, & Nick, playing pinochle & laughing with Mr. Dilney, Kuriza, & Topper, & all his other good friends & family that went before him.

Tatjiana, my sympathy is with you, Andrew, and the rest of the family. I first met Toni about 40 years ago at his garage when I brought in my VW.  Although he was from Poland and I am from Colombia, we formed a bond that lasted all these years.  Before I moved to Florida a year ago, I would stop by his house every week to bring him his two favorites, german beer and fresh bread from H&S Bakery. He was always working on his tractor, chopping wood, or in his garage helping others. Even though he was nearly blind that didn't stop him.  I'm glad I was able to see him over the summer. Visiting with him is one of the things I truly missed about Baltimore.

My friends,
When I was 12 years old I delivered papers on my bike. I saved up 150.00 and bought a 1960 Convertible VW and painted it yellow with a brush.
When I turned 16 I washed dishes at GC Murphy in what was then an open air Eastpoint mall, I bought my 2nd VW a 1964 bug and drove it all my years at Dundalk High School. One week after graduation I got a job at a VW dealer- Closs on Belair Rd, what is now Jerry's Toyota.
I befriended another VW mechanic, Tony Horodowicz who had a VW shop on Joppa Rd.  I quit the dealership and joined in with Tony in 1980, Still living with my parents, Tony helped me buy the house I am living in now.  When his wife died, We sold the shop, but the bond I had with Tony was  great We talked nearly everyday by phone, went to VW events, had breakfast almost every Sunday, We watched each other grow old. That ended when Tony passed away. If I live 1000 years I will never forget the knowledge, kindness and love Tony gave me.

Tony was exceptionally special to me and my VW enthusiast family. I cannot begin to describe all he has done for us over many years. One of my earliest memories centers on a comment he made when we first brought our VW bus for service. It was winter and the heater quit working. Being a man of few words Tony did not say much at first. He placed the bus on his lift, looked up and declared: "No pipe." We must have looked a little puzzled so he elaborated a little: "No pipe, no heat!" This seemingly simple logical sentence embodies the Tony we came to know and love. He was a down-to-earth, caring, intelligent man who I and my family will truly miss. If there are any VW's in the afterlife, I am confident they will be kept in pristine condition!

My first time that I met Tony was 1988, I was looking for a car, a VW to be exact. I remember as I walked in his shop he looked up at me with a smile in his eyes, and an accented Hello and I responded with  Hello. That's how it my life was changed; a simple walk in and hello. Since that day I have never met anyone as caring, sharp and funny in my life.
Caring for he was always there for me, sharp because he'd always listen and waited to say the right thing everytime. Funny because once you knew him the interactions with other people that did not know him were a riot. For example, a man came one spring day, and tried to sell him some sign to advertise. I  remember him listening to to the salesman, hearing the man repeating himself (thought he didn't hear him or just like hearing himself talk) Anyway, Tony looked up, smile in his eyes, and directly, but yet freindly enough and said people know me I don't need a sign to tell them that, and continued working. The man man uncertain of what had happened left. If only he knew who he was talking too.. I miss Tony with all my heart, and my life is forever changed, I will never forget him, he will live in my heart forever. God Bless.

I've known Tony all my life -boy and man, now 40 years.  His passing equals that of my parents.
Decades later we were closer than ever, I'll miss our yearly trips to the Bugouts, breakfast at Cactus Willies and him messing up the TV remote.  I will carry the memory of our time together to my grave.

My thoughts & prayers are with this special family. So many wonderful memories of days gone by. Rest in Peace Tony

I first met Toni when I was about 12 years old . My dad had a VW Bus and we did not have alot of money. So Toni and Ramond were working in there garage after hours (1967) That is where I first met now my very good friend Toni. I can never repay all he has done for me, but I tried he would say how much do I owe you Patrico. I would tell him he was crazy. My name is Pat Topper. I did stop by the house 2 weeks ago and no one was home. I will miss my good friend Anyoni very very much. God Bless You!!!

In the few years that I have known you, I have learned so much about life and will never forget the things you have done for me and the things you have taught me. I will miss you Tony.
