On Tuesday, December 4, 2018, Betty Jane Burton passed away. She was the beloved wife of the late John Edward Burton, Sr.; devoted mother of John Burton, Jr. and his wife Linda Burton and Dawn Brown and her husband Russell Brown; dear sister of the late Vernon and Horace Carre; loving grandmother of Scott Albrecht, Jr., John Burton, III, Ryan Burton, Sarah Kwartner, Pamela Baldwin, April Yeske, Anthony Geppi, and Andrea Geppi.

Family and friends may gather at Schimunek Funeral Home, Inc., 9705 Belair Rd, Nottingham, MD 21236, on Friday December 7, 2018 from 3-5 pm and 7-9 pm. A funeral service will be held at Perry Hall United Methodist Church on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at 12 pm. Interment to follow at Holly Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Perry Hall United Methodist Church. Online condolences can be left for the family at www.schimunekfuneralhomes.com.

My dear Aunt Betty was always one to make you laugh. No one could tell a story like Bets. I so wish I could be there to comfort you, Dawn and John. But know that whenever I think of your Mom, it will always be with gratitude and a smile. She was one of a kind and as she would say so often in times like this, “ain’t it awful”? Yes, Bets, this time it is. Loved my Aunt Betty.
