Catherine Marie Hagen

Catherine Marie Hagen (nee O’Brien) age 88 of Bel Air, MD died August 18, 2022. Born in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of John Patrick O’Brien and Elizabeth Nora O’Brien (nee Dinan). She grew up in Govans and attended St. Mary’s Catholic School and later was a proud graduate of Seton High School. She was the youngest of three sisters who were lifelong best friends. She met her husband of 62 years, Robert J. Hagen, when she was 24. They shared a long and beautiful life together. They put down roots in Kingsville, MD. Catherine was a devoted mom to their three children and attended every activity they were involved in. She always had a houseful with her kids and all their friends. She spent countless hours volunteering at St. Stephen’s, Bradshaw. She volunteered nearly 30 years at UM St. Joseph Medical Center. She was a member of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians celebrating her proud Irish heritage. She and Robert visited Ireland and many other destinations over the years. They shared a love of sports and were devoted fans of Notre Dame football and the Orioles. Catherine’s loving husband Robert passed away in 2020. She is survived by her children Michael Hagen, Mary Frances Kline (Michael), Susan Heller (Joe). She was a proud grandmother to Brett Hagen, Will Hagen, John Patrick Kline (Addison), Brendan Heller, Clare Heller, Sean Heller, and Kathleen Heller. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters Anne Pedone and Elizabeth Lynch. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday, August 29, 2022, 10:00 a.m. at St. Stephen Church, 8030 Bradshaw Rd., Bradshaw, MD 21087.
