Charles Joseph Maxa, Sr., age 83, of Bel Air, MD passed away on November 1, 2024. He was the beloved husband of Laurena Mary Maxa; devoted father of Mary Jo Brocato and her husband Michael, Charles Joseph Maxa, Jr. and his wife Heidi, Sandra Renee Maxa and her significant other Michael James, and the late Suzanne Marie Maxa; loving grandfather of Joseph, Matthew, Julianna, and Kirsten Maxa; dear brother of Sister Patricia Maxa SSND, and the late Diane Goodwin and her surviving spouse Edward; cherished uncle of Barbara Dean and her husband Bob, Edward Goodwin and his wife Lisa, and Michael Reid and his wife Heather; beloved godfather of the late Jason Reid.
Family and friends are invited to gather at the Schimunek Funeral Home, 9705 Belair RD, Nottingham, MD 21236, on Sunday, November 10, 2024, from 3-6 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 11, 2024, at 10 A.M., at St. Margaret Catholic Church (Bel Air, MD). Interment will follow at Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Charles’ name to the Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter at www.barcs.org
