Extremely sadden by finding out my dear friend Charles “Ray Ray” as we called him, from the Navy passed away years ago.  I first met Charles when I reported to the Stennis in 1999, he and my sister were ABE’s. He was a hard worker, and loved by many. He was a great story teller and had the best sense of humor.  I remember once he got in trouble for showing my Dad around the flight deck on a tiger cruise, but that’s what he did, he was always trying to do something good for someone else and he had good intentions with a big heart.  
My deepest condolences to his wife, son and family.

Rest in heaven to one of my good friends and part of my old navy family, all the good times we had will live on for ever.


Charles and I were in the Navy together, V-2 Division.  I adored Charles he was like a little brother to me.  He had an incredible work ethic, and that grin of his was so cheerful  that it was impossible to have a bad day around him! Truly he was as good a guy as they come. 
  Charles was at the hospital with me the day I had my oldest daughter.   I went into labor a month early and the Stennis was just coming off of deployment and had stopped in Hawaii. Word passed to my Navy friends that I was in labor and Charles came and stayed the entire time. Slept on one of those uncomfortable hospital chairs all night!  It meant so much to me.
  Sometimes in life you find people that may not be your family by blood relation but they're they're family just the same.  Charles will always be the kid brother I never had. He will continue to be loved and missed by all who knew him.  

Hey Ray Ray, so we just found out the devastating news. We wanted to let you know from your Navy family that you have missed and loved. we have some pictures we're going to look up and post on your obituary so you can see them.  We love and miss you Mike and Jen

This was one of the greatest friends that anyone could have had, I remember all the mornings on our way to school just me and Chuck I will never forget his smile and his great personality anyone who knew Chuck knew just how awesome of a person he was he will be missed by all, to his family I am truely sorry.   To Chuck I love ya but I know I will see your smiling face again.

It's been a long year since Chuck has left. Still feel like he is going to pop up and tell you one of his "awesome" jokes or make you smile. Miss you, dearly!!

1 year ago, the world lost a wonderful person. Even though it was only a few months ago many of us in Tn, found out of his passing. Childhood friends left with so many questions and still heartbroken over not knowing sooner. As I've said before, let it be a testimony to how loved Chuck was and will always be. Prayers of comfort to his family and loved ones.

Over the last year since Chucks passing,I often think of the good times we shared at JPRU both on and off work.I still can't believe that's he gone. Gone but never forgotten. He could always make me smile,even still. Rest in Peace till we meet again my friend.

It's been a year today and I still feel the pain as if I just heard the news. I love you and miss you bro. Keep watching over us.

I still turn around sometimes and expect to hear your goofy jokeS at work. Rest in peace my brother.

I've wondered many times how Chuck has been. Missing the conversations, the laughs and silliness. From church trips to opryland, bus rides, cutting up in classes... Too many to list but they will never be forgotten. Neither will Chuck's contagious smile and caring personality. Always there to make sure others were smiling. I hate that we all just found out about this but let it be a testament to how well loved Chuck was and always will be. I hate that we all lost touch but we will never forget Chuck. My thoughts and prayers are with Chuck, his son, wife and family. I don't think he ever realized how many lives he touched and how well loved he is. The world has lost a wonderful man but I think we all feel lucky to have been a part of his life-even if only for a brief time.

Some old high school buddies told me on Facebook that Chuck had passed. This breaks my heart, and I'm so sorry for the family's loss. Chuck was such a nice guy,  and I can't remember a time when he wasn't smiling. I am blessed for having known him.

I'm sorry and shocked with all the friend's here in Tennessee. I have a lot of great memories of you Chuck. The best one though was running into you in San Diego on the U.S.S. Stennis. So sorry to all his family

Im so sorry to here this has happend to a wonderful person he was so funny u will be miss by many.

Most of his class of 98 class mates from Hickman County, TN just heard of this yesterday (5/26/14) when someone came across this and shared on FaceBook. Everyone is at a loss of words and can't believe this. Chuck was one of a kind and was always happy and making everyone laugh. Although communication was lost by many after graduation...his footprint left a lasting impression on his friends. Rest in Peace, Chuck. Love you bro. My thoughts and prayers are with the whole family. Every one of you.

To my big brother, "Bubba" in High school. You always made me laugh hysterically and I always felt safe with my big brother around. I will always remember our talks on the telephone and jamming to the radio. I am just read this last night and I am heartbroken to read this. I realize this is almost a year later and I had no idea. I will honor your life by keeping your wife and son in my prayers for comfort as I know they must be feeling a huge loss.

I knew Charles, or Chuck as we called him, when him and his family moved in down the road from me on the creek. He was a great guy to grow up with. He was kept all of us laughing so hard on the bus in the afternoons on the way home from school, and was bit of a class clown. In the summer he was always game for a bike ride to the creek to go swimming and was the first one to jump off the bridge when the water was still cold from winter while the rest of us were debating if it was wise to swim in 60 degree water. His personality was bigger than his smile and his heart was golden. I'm terribly sorry to hear of his passing. He was one in a million.

I went to middle school and high school with Chuck. All of us are just finding out about his passing. How heavy hearted we are to hear of his lost. I spent many hours getting in trouble because of laughing at him during class time. What a bright smile he had! Chuck never met a stranger and was always respectful and nice to everyone.  I remember when he got his Nova and how proud he was of that car!! The world has lost a great soul. Prayers for his children, wife and family. We in Tennessee are thinking of you all now.

I knew Chuck in high school. He was quite the guy. He always made me laugh and always had an infectious grin. He was always fun to be around. Although I just found out about his passing, he will forever be missed.

I worked with OFC Charles Ray with the Security Force at Ft. Meade. He worked nights and I worked the dayshift, so I would relieve him several days during the weekly shifts. He was always upbeat and we shared a lot of laughs. He shared his memories of his time in the service(Navy) and had been to a few places where I also had been.
