David Alan Hanna Sr., 71, passed away on October 6, 2026. Born June 1, 1955 in Baltimore, Dave was a husband of 52 years, a father of four, and a man who never missed a chance to be present for the people he loved.
As he joins his beloved son Adam in Heaven, he is survived by his loving wife Laura, and his children David Jr (Dennise), Amie (Hap) Durr, and Christopher (Jennifer). Proud and adoring grandfather of Theo, Sally, Anastasia, Isabella, Gabriella, Richie, Elizabeth, Matthew, Sebastian, Zoey, Maddy, and Connor and great-grandfather of Declan and Campbell. Beloved brother of Sharon (Earl) Daugherty and a cherished brother-in-law and uncle to his many nieces and nephews who adored him. A friend to everyone who had the fortune to meet him.
Dave Sr. grew up in Parkville, MD where he attended Parkville High School and met the love of his life, Laura. The high school sweethearts proved that true love still lives and taught their children what it means to be a loving and supportive partner and friend.
Dave was a remarkable man. While starting a family at the age of 19, he managed to work fulltime and continued his education ultimately achieving a Master's in Computer Systems Engineering. And while making sure that his family was going to be safe and secure in the long-term, he took just as much effort to make sure his presence, guidance, and involvement as a father to a growing family were never missed. If you knew this man, you had no excuse for not knowing what it takes to be a great father, friend, and role model.
Dave was a great man. He was also a normal man. He loved golf, movies, bad jokes, golf, chess, going on road trips, baking cookies, golf, spending time with his family, beating them at every game they played, and of course, golf

At this time his children, family and friends will be able to fill in the other 10,000 words we can’t put into this obituary.
