On March 28, 2014, Emidio "Mimmo" Ciccanti; loving son of Irene Ciccanti and the late Thomas Ciccanti; devoted father of Kami Ciccanti; dear brother of Maria Ciccanti and husband Tom VerPloeg; uncle of Joseph and Joshua Borowy. Emidio, known as Mimmo to his friends and family, was born to immigrant parents. His father was from Italy and his mother is from Brazil. Mimmo embodied the Italian-Brazilian passion, generosity and sense of humor. To know Mimmo was to love Mimmo. His passions were his family, friends, fishing and the open water. Mimmo, we hope you’ve found your next fishing hole.
Relatives and friends may gather at Schimunek Funeral Home, Inc., 9705 Belair Rd., Nottingham MD 21236, on Saturday, April 5, 2014, from 11 am to 1 pm, with a funeral service at 1pm. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in the name of Mimmo to the Baltimore Animal Rescue & Care Shelter, Inc, (BARCS), 301 Stockholm Street, Baltimore, MD 21230.
