

On March 28, 2022, Francis Bernard Hentschel of Perry Hall, Maryland sadly passed away at age 68. He also went by the nickname “Fran” or “Frank”. He was preceded in death by his parents, John E. Hentschel and Caroline L. Hentschel (nee Tallarico). He was the beloved husband of Ivetta Hentschel (nee Rozanski), married for 28 years; devoted father to Nicholas J. Hentschel and stepfather to Lauren Amend and Jennifer Norris; father-in-law to Donald Amend, Jr. and soon-to-be father-in-law to Steven Singleton; loving grandfather to David and Hannah Amend; dear brother of John J. Hentschel and wife Lynn (nee Spencer); uncle and godfather to cherished niece, Jessica S. Skopac (nee Hentschel), her husband Andrija Skopac and son Evan; and uncle and godfather to cherished nephew Jeremy D. Hentschel. He also left behind many other treasured in-laws; nieces and nephews; and a dear friend of many decades, John Schmuff, along with other close friends.
In his youth, he attended Shrine of the Little Flower, Archbishop Curley High School in Baltimore, MD and graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Towson University in Towson, MD. Frank spent 32 years of combined service working for the federal government at the United States Postal Service and retired as a director of a division at the Social Security Administration 4 years ago; he received special recognition for his work projects related to the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. He cherished his family and friendships dearly and enjoyed spending his free time with them. Frank was a kind, generous, and humble man; he always kept his word and was always the person to call when someone needed help and support. He enjoyed playing golf, fishing, watching the Ravens and basketball games, and was a nature and animal lover.
It’s hard to imagine our lives without him here, but we find comfort in the thought of a heavenly reunion one day.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the Schimunek Funeral Home, Inc., 9705 Belair Rd., Nottingham, MD 21236, on Thursday, April 7, 2022, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. A Catholic mass will be held at St. Joseph Church Fullerton, 8420 Belair Rd., Nottingham, MD 21236 on Friday, April 8, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made in his honor to the American Heart Association (www.heart.org), American Diabetes Association (www.diabetes.org), ASPCA (www.aspca.org), or another charitable organization.
