Sending our love and prayers to you Sinde and the entire Plantholt and Hildebrandt clans. Gene was a wonderful man and true blessing to have grown up with as a neighbor. He was so helpful with my dad and all we went through. His kindness and smile will be missed. On behalf of the Fisher family,

There will always be a chaise lounge chair reserved for Gene at Valleybrook. We will miss the conversations about sports and local history and everything else from A to Z. To the Plantholt family, our hearts are heavy with your loss and may you find comfort knowing he was so well liked and loved.

Where do I begin... I met Gene and Sinde at Valleybrook Swim Club many years ago back in the early 2000's.

We enjoyed each other's company at the Family Pool and mostly at the Adult Pool where we had so many good weekends hanging out and laughing.

Gene had the best stories and we really understood each other being from the same era back in the 60's and 70's.
He was very special as well as Sinde of course.

I am so happy I got to spend an afternoon with Gene and Sinde last summer as I don't live in Maryland anymore but came home for a visit in August.

One of the things I miss the most about Maryland is Valleybrook Swim Club and all the years of seeing the Plantholts there.
Many wonderful memories to hold on to until we meet again!

I will always have the images of Gene sitting in his yard gently caring for his flower gardens and driving his golf cart to the pool. He would have come in 1st place if they ever had a contest for Best suntan every year.

I am not just sad at losing a brother-in-law but a true gentleman and great neighbor of almost 40 years.

Sinde, Phil and Tiffany...his legacy will live on in your lives.

Reece, Devin & Dillon...your granddad was so proud of you and his smile lit up everyone around him when he talked about your accomplishments.

Gene’s suffering is over and he is now at peace.

So happy that Fr. Ryan was able to visit Gene in his last days. He was such a big part of his life when Gene was growing up.

Gene’s memories will comfort us and motivate us to honor him by continuing to be a loving family.

Gene was a fun lovin' person. Made people laugh.
He and his family would come visit his cousin Paula, many great memories of wildwood.
God bless you and your family.

So many fond memories of Gene and our families sharing good times at the beach, the pool, July 4th, crabs and beer, and of course his pirate imitation
