January 18, 1932 to the late George H. Nitzel, Sr. and the late Mildred Nitzel (nee Dellinger).
He lived and raised his family in his White Marsh home for 64 years with his beloved wife, the late
Rita Frances Nitzel (nee Truffer). He is survived by his loving sons George H. Nitzel, lll and Bill Nitzel and
his wife Linda; cherished grandchildren Christopher Nitzel and his wife Kristen, Laura Nitzel,
Deanna Nitzel and Andrew Nitzel.
George will be remembered for being a true renaissance man and storyteller. He served 4 years in the Navy as a submariner during the Korean War, worked at Essay Meats in Baltimore and for 35 years worked for C&P Telephone Company. His interests have always been extensive. He was an avid fisherman, crabber, hunter, beekeeper, woodworker and cabinet maker, owned an oyster shucking business and made professional grade candy.
George had a generous and kind heart and his loss is felt deeply by his family and friends. A celebration
of his life will be held at a later date.
