On October 17, 2020 Glenn Charles Spamer passed away. He was the beloved husband of Helen Spamer (nee Walker); devoted father of James Spamer; loving son of the late Alfred and Shirley Spamer; dear brother of Terry Spamer. Glenn was loved by his family, numerous friends and former co-workers. Glenn worked for Baltimore County for 20 years and the Baltimore Orioles for 23 years.
Glenn was an avid Baltimore Orioles fan and memorabilia collector. He was a novice historian on his own and served on the Board of the Perry Hall Mansion. He also was a railroad enthusiast and enjoyed researching numerous topics for himself and others. Traveling was one his pleasures with his special places inclusive of Williamsburg, VA; Ocean City, MD; Massanutten, VA and Disney World. Some of Glenn’s hobbies were listening to music, with The Who being his favorite, metal detecting, frequenting thrift shops and attending talks at various senior centers. He enjoyed the company of his family and friends and will truly be missed by all.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit at Schimunek Funeral Home (9705 Belair Rd. Nottingham, MD 21236) on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Guests will have the opportunity to pay their respect to Glenn inside of the funeral home and the family will be happy to greet guests outside of the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church (9215 Old Harford Rd. Parkville, MD 21234) at 10 AM. The mass will be held outdoors. Please bring your own chair and dress for the weather. Internment will follow at Parkwood Cemetery (3310 Taylor Ave. Baltimore, MD 21234). In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Glenn’s name to the American Cancer Society, Ma & Pa Railroad Preservation Society or the B&O Railroad Historical Society.
