Glenn was a terrific person and a worthy opponent , whether playing tennis, RISK or card games.  He was always honest, open,  fair and, best of all, someone you could depend upon.  
I remember waking up about 3am on a cold morning and going with him in a boat to take and analyze water samples on Back River, being taught and at the same time, enjoying myself while assisting him to do his job. He was hard-working and complimentary of others. His knowledge and varied pursuits made his stories very interesting and enabled his dry sense of humor to be displayed.  I'll miss seeing this wonderful person. 
God bless you, Glenn; I'm so very thankful that you enriched my life in so many ways.

I'm so sorry to hear about Glenn.  I just learned of his death through Clare Brunner.  I worked with Glenn at Balto. Co. Health Dept.  for many years.  He was a quiet, hard working guy.  He loved his sports, especially the Orioles.  I loved being invited to his Xmas parties.  Take care Helen.  You are in my prayers.

One of my first memories of Glenn was as a very helpful coworker to a confused new inspector. I came to realize it was part of a slight obsessive need to have things in order. He later became tolerant of my opposite behavior.  We did discover a mutual love of obscure “junk”.  The largest of which was the house in Reisterstown .  Three car loads later...
We had meaningful conversations and silly talks but I couldn’t help but take advantage of that obsessive behavior. If I wanted to know something he was my first Google. 
I will miss you my friend and will never forget you.

I was shocked at Glenn's passing.  Even though, I knew he was very sick, I was sure he would pull through.  He bravely faced every bit of bad news and kept on with a positive attitude.  He loved  his life, his wife (who was  my  sister ) and his son.  He lived a full day everyday.  He did not waste time in self-pity or regret.
I will truly miss him.
Glenn was more than a brother in law to me.  He was my friend and travel buddy. We shared many experiences traveling throughout Ocean City, Williamsburg, Myrtle Beach and Florida. 
I was the driver and Glenn was my navigator riding shot gun.  One little problem was keeping him awake, particularly, after a nice meal!!!
In a crowd, you would never lose Glenn.  Always, he could easily be seen in his Baltimore Oriole jacket.
We spent countless hours shopping as we searched for the next great find.  I will never see a Goodwill or other thrift store sign without thinking of him.  The difference between our shopping was that I usually looked for books for myself.  Glenn always shopped for others.  
Glenn was a font of information.  He had a great memory.  What he did not remember, he could look up in his extensive file collection.  He always had an article, newspaper clipping, map, or book to give you on the subject you had been discussing.

Rest in peace, dear brother, you will be missed!!!


I never dreamed that I would outlive Glenn.  He was the young one always helping my husband and me.  We are 13 plus years older than he was.   
Glenn and I had many interests in common.  We liked history,   We liked eating out.  We liked shopping.  We liked playing cards and/or board games.  We both liked collecting postcards.  
However,  probably my favorite thing about my relationship with Glenn was that I liked talking and he didn't mind listening!!!!
My heart is broken.   
The evening after Glenn died I was sitting on my porch talking on the phone with my sister.  I was telling her the news about  Glenn.  The sky looked odd and, as I was watching, a rainbow formed.  I was surprised as it was not raining, had not rained earlier and, as it turned out, did not rain later.  The rainbow formed quickly and arced all the way to the ground.  I looked down only to turn my phone off and when I looked up the rainbow was gone.   I could not believe my eyes.  I had chills going up and down my arms. 
Was this a heavenly sign that all was well with Glenn?  
I hope so!!!!

While I have many wonderful memories of trips and parties that my family has shared with  my Aunt Helen and Glenn, two recent stories come to mind when I think of Glenn’s kind and generous spirit.  Last October, we joined them on a Williamsburg weekend!    Not only was the weekend filled with tours and planned activities but when we arrived, we found Williamsburg books and the coolest embroidered Williamsburg hat waiting for us.  Those were the sort of details we were spoiled with when vacationing with my Aunt and Glenn! 
When I started my job as a school nurse, I needed to keep the health room filled with spare clothing.  You would not believe the amount of clothing we went through!  But after a Massanutten trip where I had been hitting up the thrift shops for kids sweatpants, Glenn took notice.  You guessed it...... after that trip, I no longer needed to hunt for clothing as Glenn made sure I always had enough!  Glenn was a very special person, one of the good guys.  We were blessed to have him in our family and he will be dearly missed 💔

I couldn't had a better brother-in-law and great friend. We had many good times together going on trips with Glenn and Helen, playing pinochle.   One of the best memories  i have of Glenn when we were in Nashville  on a gray bus tour of the stars houses. I was setting towards the rear of the bus with Glenn at my side. The bus driver was the guide and proceeded to talk. Two very large, i mean big guys sat a couple rows up and were talking when the driver was talking into the microphone . Glenn yelled out i didn't pay to listen to you two guys. The driver and everyone else became very quiet. .Fortunately these guys had their wives setting in the seat in front of them and didn't say anything.  Half way thru the tour the driver said we would split up and go on two different buses . So i said to myself they will go on the other bus shortly . Well to my  surprise they got off and we did too. I didn't pee my pants , but i wanted to.  I teased Glenn about that trip numerus times aftewards.  But we really had  a great time.  Glenn, my brother-in-law  good friend you are already missed,  You were the best and God will look over you.  Lenny as Glenn called me. 

This photo was taken at my outdoor graduation party two years ago when I received my doctoral degree. Uncle Glenn and Aunt Helen never missed a milestone in my life and have always been there to  offer support to me along the way. The imprints that family make in our lives forever mold us and I will always be eternally grateful! I am not sure what Uncle Glenn was doing in this photo when I took it, but I can almost guarantee that he was about to assist  with something during my party to help  make it even more special!  He was the most kind and caring individual, who never missed an opportunity to help others and who always made his friends and family his first priority.  He is loved and will be dearly missed! 

I love escape rooms!  Not sure how much Glenn liked it but it reminds me of a fabulous weekend we shared in Williamsburg!

All of us at the Ma & Pa Railroad Preservation Society would like to send our condolences to Glenn's whole family.  He was a valued long-time member of our Society and we looked forward to seeing him whenever he came to Muddy Creek Forks.  We especially appreciated his willingness to spread the word about our railroad heritage village and the artifacts he shared with us. And we always enjoyed exchanging information about the railroad with him.  Our sympathies are with you in this sad time.

My heart is broken. Glenn was an exceptional man with a rarely seen sense of honor, duty, and ethics. He was a loyal husband, a caring father, a good neighbor, and a very thoughtful, generous friend. No matter the time of day or night I arrived for a visit, Glenn was with Helen to pick me up from the airport. That was more than likely after he had shoveled snow from a neighbor’s walk or mowed another’s lawn, or helped somebody move, or any number of things he did to help people. Once I told him I liked the shirt he was wearing and that I wished my boyfriend would wear that style. Glenn left the room, came back and presented me with a brand-new shirt like the one he was wearing. “Here,” he said, “Give this to him.” His caring nature included considering and/or remembering what people would appreciate—even if he hardly knew them!—then searching for that perfect thing in thrift stores, and then presenting them as gifts. 

 He had a razor-sharp memory for historical facts. Yet, he was always unassuming and humble. My favorite story is of the time we were on a ferry in San Francisco, headed to see the Orioles play the San Francisco Giants. People were animated and chatting about baseball and it was clear that Glenn was extremely knowledgeable. A man who seemed to think he knew more than Glenn, and was obviously angling to stump him, asked in a challenging tone, “Okay, tell me, what year did Earl Weaver retire?” True to his egoless, quiet, reserved self, Glenn paused, looked at him and said, “Which time?” 

Glenn, YOU were the real treasure. We were all so lucky to have had you in our lives. Love,  your “sister” Mary

It was impossible not to smile around Glenn. I was fortunate enough to spend time with him in January during a talk and slide show about Woodstock,which he had organized,  an impromptu lunch on my deck in OC  in July, and a small gathering of friends in September. He remembered I attended Linden Heights Church as a child and gave me a history of that church written by one of its pastors. He gave Bob a Ryan Mountcastle  baseball card he came across, and gave Orioles caps to  everybody at the September get together.  And a much coveted box of Clorox wipes to each couple there!! It is my honor to call him "friend".

So sorry to hear of your loss, I did not know Glenn very well but
I'm sure if you married him he had to be a really great and kind man.
You and your son should always remember the good times, the laughs and the memories you all made together.

Dear Helen and Jmmy, Your Glenn was always so much fun to be around with all his interesting hobbies and connections: the Orioles, the Historic House, the railroad, OC sing a longs, square dancing, Williamsburg, his collections..... there was even that time we went beach combing together in OC. He will be deeply missed and I hope your many happy memories will keep him close in spirit. He brought this world so much joy. Love you! Sister Linda

I worked with Glenn with the Orioles, we were on the team in the Players Lot for 5 years. We became good friends and I always enjoyed our conversations. Glenn was a good guy and it was my honor to have known him. He will be missed.
