Greg was one of the first people I met in HarCo.  He was always kind, warm and friendly.  I'm so happy to have known you and Joanne.  Until we cross paths again.......

I would like to express my deep and heartfelt sympathy to the family over the loss of my friend Greg. Reading the Sun this morning took me back to many enjoyable memories growing up with Greg, from preteen, teen and adult years. Greg and I played baseball, football, went swimming, to teen centers and graduated from Baltimore Polytechnic. 

I also, worked with his Dad at Western Electric. We all laughed and very much enjoyed those years with his dad. Especially, funny when I gave his dad (Bob, who I was also very close too) my 67 corvette after the bar to take it home and pick me up the next dad.......Greg got a big  laugh over that and the other good  times we shared.  Greg also lived next door to my brother Bill in Forrest Hill. 

 My thoughts, prayers and great sympathy are  with you at this very difficult time.


The memories keep coming....

Being with Greg sitting behind home plate but in the upper deck of Memorial Stadium for a double header on a hot Sunday afternoon when Frank Robinson became the first and I guess only man ever to hit a home run out of Memorial Stadium.  

So many great memories of growing up in Baltimore with Greg.  

I am thinking about being with him at his parents home watching the Beatles on Ed Sullivan.  

Being in my bedroom smoking cigarettes when my mother came home.  I told him to get rid of the cigarettes while I went down to stall my Mom.  He put the two cigarettes out on the hard wood floor which forever left a black burn mark on the floor.  

When he burned out the entire electrical system in my brothers brand new 1968 Chevy Impala convertible at Gino's on Loch Raven and Taylor Ave. by dropping a penny into the cigarette lighter hole to see what would happen.  

The Sun Ray gang.  Sneaking onto Mt. Pleasant Golf Course.  Poly.  The alley gang.  Halloween parties.  Greg introduced me to Barry Goldwater and conservative political thought.

Playing with Brian when he was just a baby in their back yard in Hamilton.  Greg's mom and dad were great folks, funny in their own unique way, and Greg was a great guy.   He had so many faithful friends.

In later years, I'd see him at the annual Poly Alumni meetings and it was just like no time had passed at all.  His enthusiasm,  charming and witty personality, and warm smile were still the same.  

Thanks for being my friend, Greg.  I look forward to experiencing many adventures with you again when I catch up with you on the other side.



We were in same graduating year, 1964. Greg was a gifted and amazing athlete. He was always Hopp'n and Popp'n and full of good time fun energy. Greg and Roy Burger were like Mutt and Jeff......... real big and smaller. Several years ago, we lost Roy also. Father Time walks us to the edge, and then there are only the memories to cling to. I always admired Greg and was envious of his dynamics. We didn't hang out much outside of school, but it was high quality time with Greg at Poly. I last saw Greg at Our 50th Reunion, and it was a thrill to see him! Greg, you cut a wide path coming through. You will be dearly missed by all, especially me.

i first met greg and his gang at the idlewilde in northwood and then later reconnected  on main street bel air,.he and joann were  the best pair to  talk with ,and compare notes.. everyone loved his demeaner,knowledge and basic friendliness.He was one of those people that enriched us all..From baltimore to the beach and bel air you couldnt meet a better friend..

Greg was a boss, a mentor, and more importantly a friend.  I met Greg,  about 30  years ago, when he was my Sales manager. We worked together for years; when he moved to another company, again as Sales manager, he took me with him; We made a great team.  Greg was a special person, he was a people person, smart, charming and funny as hell. I treasure the memories we shared working so closely together, the road trips, the sales calls, and of course the happy hours. You will be missed by everyone who was lucky enough to call you friend, Fly high Greg, until we can laugh again...

Went to Poly ‘61 - ‘64 and attended several classes with Greg. I remember him as one of those “preppy” dressing guys. No socks. Wore down loafers.  A tie with hummers. He had a little bounce in his step when he walked.  He was a close friend of Roy Burger. What a pair they were - 2 goof balls. Great memories of Greg. He’ll be missed by all of us who knew him.

I always loved talking  to Greg when he would be at Sean Bolan's, he had so many stories and would always make me laugh.  Gone too soon he will be sorely missed.
