On July 1, 2021, Gregory James Schaum; beloved husband of 42 years of Debra Schaum; devoted father of Jaclyn Silverthorne and husband Matthew; loving grandfather of Avery Grace and Carson Gregory Silverthorne; dear brother of Michael Schaum and the late William Schaum, Jr.; dear uncle of Kristin Comegys and family; special friend of Steve Riback. Also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and very special neighbors. Pre-deceased by his parents, William and Elizabeth Schaum, and his beloved dog Brooks. Greg grew up in Highlandtown, and played sports at Poly and football at Michigan State. He was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys and also played for the New England Patriots. Greg was inducted into the Poly Hall of Fame and the Maryland State Athletic Hall of Fame. Thanks to all of the doctors and nurses who took care of Greg during his long illness.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, July 8, 2021 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Church (Fullerton). Inurnment St. Joseph Church Cemetery. The family would like to invite all that attend the Memorial Mass to a luncheon at Columbus Gardens, 4301 Klosterman Ave., Baltimore MD 21236, immediately following the cemetery.
