I am sorry for this great loss to your families. Reading the stories and seeing the photos, it is clear that his life and personality were beyond remarkable and that he was a beautiful person. I am sure you will carry him in your hearts and miss him always. May God bless and comfort all of you now and evermore.

Uncle Jimmy meant the world to me. It was almost like having a second father! He mentored me and guided me through my youth, even gave me my first job, illegally working behind the bar at Doc Fletcher's Fine Drink Emporium lol.

He was loving and caring, very quick to offer help if I ever needed anything. One time he even gave me a car. We did a lot together, including performing in a musical called Buddy: the Buddy Holly Story in Pennsylvania. I'll never forget that time sharing the stage with my uncle.

To the family of Jim “Doc” Fletcher-
Jimmy was a truly beautiful man who gifted so many wonderful memories to my husband Bill, myself and our friends.
Nights dancing to and having terrific times listening to “The Fletchers” play are cherished memories.  
I am saddened to hear of his passing.  Those that loved him are in my thoughts and prayers as you grieve the lost of one who brought joy to so many.

I was 12 years old in 1964 and I was in my third year of drum lessons. I was asked to sit in with a group that just lost their drummer. The leader was George Maxwell and the bass player was Ashton. My father didn’t want me to play at the jazz club they auditioned in because he thought I was too young. Six years later, as a student at Peabody Prep, I started teaching at Eastern Music with Jim. It was a pleasure to know and work with Jim. When Eastern Music closed, I went to work at Hoschild Kohn with Skip. It was always a privilege and pleasure to be in the company of the Fletcher brothers. I used to enjoy seeing the Fletcher Brother’s Band. They were great guys and leave me many fond memories.

Uncle Jim and I proudly walking to rehearsal from the train as we worked on one of my plays, I was so pleased he could come up and be a part of the work. 

Uncle Jim was a funny, kind, stubborn, silly, and supportive man who went above and beyond at even the most minor of things. His passing fancies were exercises in living a well rounded life and his experiences made him the beautiful artist he was. 
I’m glad to have known and been inspired by him - love you and miss you. ❤️

At Union Sq crab shack in NYC one of the first visits to NYC after Lacy and I moved there we went galavanting downtown to get good food.  And it was good!

In NYC rehearsing as GIACMO in the staged reading of my play “La Crescita” about loss and family in Sicily. Doc crafted an eerily remarkable portrayal of a man trapped in his circumstances with humor and charm.

Uncle Jim loved a good movie and watching them with him always ended up in a lovely discussion about acting and story telling. I’m pretty sure that this one was a good one. Pretty sure.

Jim (Doc) was an amazing brother and uncle, talented musician and so entertaining, always there for Jeannie, me and the kids. Came to a lot of there shows and was very supportive of everything they did. We will miss him so much the life of the party. Love you Doc.

I am so sorry that the world has lost another amazing person.  Jim was kind, funny, caring and very much like the rest of the Fletcher family, warm.  Bless his friends and family as they cope with this loss.  Rest in peace, Jim.  You will be missed and certainly remembered.

Doc was the most extraordinary person I've known, and I will miss him. He was a true friend. 
Doc did a great variety of things from manager of a country club to teaching junior high music, but he was also a musician and actor who performed on stage as well as acting in commercials and documentary films. He also had parts in TV shows and feature films. And let's not forget poker!
Most of all, he was a wonderful story teller, and we often had lunch together and swapped stories. 
You could not ask for a better friend.

So very sorry for your loss.  Carol and family are in my thoughts and prayers. Hoping you find comfort in the fond memories and support of family and friends.
