I was so saddened to hear of Jimmy's passing.   Jimmy and my beloved brother, Jack Linehan, who died in June of 2024 were  best of friends for 50 years.   The last time  I was with Jimmy was at my brother's services and having Jimmy there was such a blessing.  
I met Jimmy when we were in our twenties and the qualities that endeared Jimmy to my family never waned.  There was an exuberance about Jimmy that was palatable  and he was kind and generous to others.  Jimmy was also hilarious, even when he didn't mean to be.   Jimmy's love of his family was so present and he always talked about his family and how proud he was of the accomplishments of his nieces and their families.  Jimmy was as genuine as it gets.   The world lost a wonderful man but I know we will continue to feel his light and kindness upon us.    Love,  Ann Linehan

My strongest memory of Jim were always centered on the good times, laughter, and the many often unseen kind things he would enjoy doing for others.

Wilma  Jane Burgess with her children Susan, Marla, Frankie and Tina ( Jim’s sister and his nieces and nephew from South Carolina

My name is Teresa Burgess, I am married to Jim’s nephew Frankie, Wilma’s son and we live in South Carolina. I’ve only gotten to know Uncle Jim through Facebook in the last  6 or 7 years but I’m so glad that I did, because he was truly a sweet and kind man with a funny sense of humor. He was always so kind, he reached  out to me when my Mom passed last November with such kind words and when I had surgery in 2019 he had a beautiful plant delivered to me. He and Frankie talked and joked  often on the phone, texts and Facebook messages. He was truly concerned about Frankie when he found out in April that Frankie had kidney cancer and had to have a kidney removed even when he had so much going on too. He was kind and loving and he will truly be missed. He always called us his Southern Kin and we loved him and I know he loved us too and we will miss him very much.❤️

We will miss you, Jim Groome. I will never forget our outings to Maggiano’s and the fun times we had in the office. I’ve been working with you for 26 years and you remain the same all of that time you will be greatly missed.

I had the pleasure of working with Jim, and he truly had a beautiful heart. He always gave me positive feedback and was such a kind, funny, and genuine person. I’m sitting here smiling just thinking about the moments we shared. I would sit in his cubicle, and we would chat and laugh. I’m so grateful we stayed in contact after he retired.

Jim, I will miss you very much. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your life. My heartfelt condolences go out to his family.

I was honored to get to know Uncle Jimmy over the past several years.  He put a smile on everyone’s face with his  quick comments and his gregarious personality. I have fond memories and will never forget his kindness. Rest in peace my friend.
