I knew Juanita at Princeton University as a very dignified and kind lady. I have often thought of her over the years. I am saddened to learn of her transition and I pray God's love and peace upon her family.

In Christ,

"BE WHO YOU WANT TO BE" These were the last words spoken to me by Aunt Juanita. I'm so happy to have known you. A woman of class, elegance, charming, and soft. Brilliant, and graceful, tenacious, and enduring. You fought the good fight and your are the champion. As you rest waiting for the day of our Lord Jesus Christ know that you might not be present, but surely not forgotten. You are on our minds and in our 💕💞♥️. Auntie, I thank you for being a friend to my mom,and a aunt to me. I've taken into account what you said. I have made my decision on who I want to be. I've decided I will follow Jesus home to Glory. I LOVE YOU AND DO MISS YOU. YOUR NEPHEW JUNIOR.

Some friendships are casual, then overtime it blossoms into a strong sisterhood, a loving and unconditional friendship. So was our relationship. Juanita had the ability to make all her friends feel special, and loved. Thank you for a friendship that spans 35 years. Thank you for the laughter and tears we shared. Thank you for your loyalty and support. On behalf of my entire family, you will be missed. Safe journey my friend.

Juanita Crane Memory

Juanita Crane was both a dear friend and guiding light in shaping the lives of students for many years. Together we orchestrated an academic program at Bedford Academy HS , which was highly recognized as a major accomplishment in NYC and beyond. My successful career as an educator was due to her guidance and support during the most tumultuous times in promoting academic excellence in challenging communities. Juanita Crane , was a major contributing force , in helping to prepare students for higher education at Bedford and other noteworthy institutions in Bklyn. Our team of educators created an academic scheme which was rated as one of the best in NYS for low income students.
I will most remember Ms. Crane as a key player of the PTA at IS 308, a group of strong women , who gave me my first contract as a young and often reckless educator. They helped to structure my approach to education beyond my own expectations.
Ms. Crane was more than a friend and colleague, she was the wind beneath my wings. I will never forget the times we spent together, proving that students can achieve on any level, when you make them believe that they were born to win. Rest in strength my Sister!

Juanita was truly a light. We met when our children attended PS308, and our time on the PTA quickly blossomed into a forever friendship. She was simply a beautiful woman, with the wisdom of a sage who spoke truth to power. She always had the right words for any situation. Juanita was beautiful, inside and out. The epitome of class and elegance. A jewel whose radiance could only be matched by the love and kindness she showed others. Always offering help or putting people in contact. She connected folks. No one networked better than Juanita. She was awesome, formidable, and strong and made everyone’s life better for knowing her, surely mines. It didn’t matter how long we hadn’t seen or spoken, when we did we jumped right in like there’d only been a day between us and talked for hours. Juanita , you were much loved and will be dearly missed my friend.

The first time I met Miss Juanita I knew that I had a new friend. She was pleasant and had a sense of humor. I was fortunate to have met her and enjoyed her company many times. We shared a lot of laughs and went to a few events together. She was an intelligent woman with a fantastic smile and will be missed.

Juanita was a dear friend to me and a friend to all. A wonderful mother who loved her family dearly as she spoke so kindly of them often. She was a mentor to the underprivileged and an author with great wisdom. Her integrity was to be honored and her life touched all she met in a positive light. I will be forever grateful for her friendship and I will dearly miss her.
