I’m glad that there are so many of you to be there for each other at this difficult time. Never can understand why things like this happen. Karen was a beautiful girl. Paul and I are so sorry for your loss.

Growing up, I loved that aunt Kar lived in the apartment above my Mom and me. I would go upstairs and ask if she could brush my hair because she had long hair like me and would be gentler than my Mom (at least to the mind of an 8 year old).

But my absolute favorite were the nights she would watch me while Mom was at work and we would watch A Different World and the Cosby Show and I’d get to hang out with just her, and her cats Sadie and Chloe. Dinner was usually just rice or pasta with butter because we all know she loved her carbs.

I’m sorry I can’t be there in person. I’m grateful I got to spend as much time with you as I did growing up and for all the love you poured into me, no matter how annoying I’m sure I was. I love and miss you aunt Kar, and I hope you’re at peace now.

Love, Er

Karen was a neighbor who could often be found tending to her beautiful landscape. After attending our wedding in 2002 Karen continued for years to send us anniversary cards...her kindness did not go unnoticed.

Karen always had a special bond with my husband Lee. Not only did he buy his favorite car from her, but he was called upon one day to take her to the hospital after she had cut herself while cooking. Without a doubt, I'm sure Lee was one of many in line to help receive Karen into Gods kingdom.

The world has lost a gem...rest in peace Karen!
