On October 24, 2026, Lawrence J. Gerst passed away. Lawrence is the beloved husband of Thelma M. Gerst; devoted father of Laura Bolt and Beth Lynn Scheopner and husband Tim Scheopner, Sr.; loving grandfather of Brittney Jackman, Robert Bolt, Jr., Jordan Bolt, Caleigh Scheopner, and Timothy Scheopner, Jr.; dear brother of the late Charles Gerst, surviving sister Marie Temple, the late Irene Porter, Mildred Leonard, Bernard Gerst, and surviving brother George Gerst.
Relatives and friends will gather at Schimunek Funeral Home, Inc., 9705 Belair Rd., Nottingham MD 21236, on Thursday & Friday, October 29 & 30, 2026, 3-5 & 7-9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Church (Fullerton), 8420 Belair Rd., Nottingham MD 21236, on Saturday, October 31, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Interment St. Joseph Church Cemetery.
