On September 1, 2025 Marlene "Mar" Glava passed away. She was the beloved wife of the late Gus Sam Glava; devoted mother of Darlene Glava and her partner Michael Goetchius, Donna Creager and her husband Bob, and Christine Glava Nolan and her husband Manuel; cherished grandmother of Natalie Rayner, Laura Rayner, and Gus Lane and his wife Anna; loving great-grandmother of Shaun, Karli, Lyanna, and Rheia; she is also survived by her beloved dog Joy, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Marlene and her late husband Gus owned several Baltimore-area restaurants and bars where she was affectionately known as The Sarge.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit at Schimunek Funeral Home Inc., 9705 Belair Rd. Nottingham, MD 21236 on Tuesday, September 9, 2025 from 2-4 and 6-9 PM, where a Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Cemetery.
