Marvin M. Kahl Sr.

On November 19, 2025, Marvin M. Kahl, Sr. passed away. Marvin was the beloved husband of the late Katherine B. Kahl; devoted Father of Lisa Red and Marvin Kahl Jr and his Girlfriend Wilsie Boram; loving Grandfather of Ryan, Katlynn, and Shane; and Haylo Crew; Great-grandfather to Rilynn Red; dear Brother of Anita, Shirley, Jeanette, Dorothy, Wiley, Glen, Michael, and the late James.

Marvin was devoted to his family, providing for his children, grandchildren, and extended family. He was well known for his sense of humor and selfless generosity.

At the age of 17, Marvin joined the Navy and served on the USS Essex. After his service in the Navy, he returned home and married Katherine Zech. He worked tirelessly in sometimes extreme weather conditions to provide for his family.

He enjoyed traveling, camping, hunting, crabbing, fishing, scuba diving, and playing cards and spending time in the great outdoors. On one of our many trips to Disney, if we couldn’t find him, we knew he was at the Small World.

Marvin will be forever remembered for his family devotion, sense of humor, and mentoring nature.

Relatives and friends will gather at Schimunek Funeral Home, Inc., 9705 Belair Rd., Nottingham MD 21236, on Monday, November 24, 2025, from 3-5 & 7-9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, 10003 Bird River Rd., Middle River MD 21220, on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. Interment Holly Hill Memorial Gardens. Following the interment at the cemetery, the family would like to invite all that will be attending to join them for a luncheon at the funeral home.
