Maureen’s life was marked by her deep love, selflessness, faith in Jesus, and service to others. While she held a diverse resume of jobs and experiences that shaped her—from serving in the Navy and working in investment banking, to driving for UPS and arranging flowers—her true legacy lies in the way she made people feel. Maureen compassionately cared for everyone who crossed her path, including family, friends, and strangers alike, without expectation or judgment.
No task was too difficult or complex for Maureen. She was a true jack-of-all-trades who could do nearly anything. She loved spending her time on home projects, thriving with anything that required a tool, some elbow grease, and a bit of creativity. Maureen was a dedicated worker, always ensuring every job was done exactly right and handled with immense care.
She was known to many for her infectious laugh, quirky humor, and carefree spirit that inspired joy in everyone around her. She absolutely loved to dance, specifically to Michael Jackson and Motown music, and would get lost in the beat without a care in the world. She had a gift for making people feel like it was okay to let loose, be silly, and not worry about the opinions of others.
Maureen radiated an energy and light that warmed every room she walked into, leaving a lasting impression on everyone she met. Her strength, positivity, and resilience could pierce through the darkest of times, lifting the spirits of those around her no matter the circumstances, even up until her last breath. Through every obstacle she overcame, she proved time and time again that she was a fighter who would do anything for the ones she loved. Her greatest joy and motivation at the end of her life was the love she had for her grandchildren, and the joy she got from being their Mimi. She had a way of encouraging everyone to embrace the childlike spirit and innocence that we all have inside us.
Maureen was always unapologetically herself, and her authenticity invited others to be the same. She lived by the mantra that there is no use in worrying until you actually have something to worry about. Even when challenges did arise, they never knocked her down or rattled her spirit. That positive mindset carried her through life's hardships and allowed her to inspire countless others to do the same. Her love will never truly fade, as it lives on in the hearts of the many people she loved and inspired. We miss her deeply and will carry her with us always.
Maureen always said that when she passed she did not want us to dwell in the sadness– she wanted a party. So, we are going to do our best to honor her wishes. Please join us to celebrate her life and legacy.
