Pat graduated from Mount Saint Joseph High School and attended the University of Baltimore. He enjoyed a lifelong passion for sports and coached baseball and football teams for local recreational leagues. He was an avid sports fan, especially of baseball, golf, football, and basketball. He was also a devoted fan of classic Western television shows.
More than anything else, Pat loved his family. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose love, guidance, and unwavering presence will be deeply missed by family and friends. He raised his four children with his first wife, Judith Coll, who passed away in 2003. In 2008, Pat was blessed to marry Catherine Becker Coll, who shared his passion for sports and Western television shows.
He is survived by his wife, Cathy; his children: Linda Hogg and her husband, Ron; Robert Coll and his wife, Megan; Brian Coll; and David Coll and his wife, Katie. He was a proud grandfather to Jennifer and Ryan Ware, William and Jude Coll, and Madison and Morgan Coll; and his siblings, Carolyn Coll Reyerson and Donald Coll.
Pat was known for speaking his mind and never hesitated to share his opinions. He had a gift for memorable sayings and expressions that his family has carried with them since childhood. His humor, wisdom, and unmistakable voice will continue to echo in the hearts and memories of those who loved him.
In accordance with the family's wishes, private graveside and memorial services will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Leveling the Playing Field, which helps expand access to youth sports, or to the BrightFocus Foundation, which funds research to defeat Alzheimer’s disease, macular degeneration, and glaucoma.
The family appreciates the love, support, and condolences extended during this challenging time.
