Ralph G. "Joe" Shaffer Jr.

On August 22, 2018, Ralph G. “Joe” Shaffer, Jr. passed away peacefully at the Senator Bob Hooper House in Forest Hill, MD. He was the beloved husband of the late Catherine Shaffer (nee Duschl); devoted father of Stephen G. Shaffer, Sr. and his wife Linda, Susan Gail Shaffer, and Wendy M. Wallick and her husband Barry; loving grandfather of Stephen G. Shaffer, Jr. and his wife Sarah, Timothy M. Shaffer and his wife Lisa, Christine A. Wallick, and Lee A. Lobeck and her husband Mark, as well as 4 great-grandchildren; cherished brother of Ruth Tankersley, Helen Shifflett, Frank Shaffer, Neva Mattheiss, William Shaffer, Inez MacCumbee, and the late Mary Young and John Shaffer. Ralph is survived by his dear friends Frank and Marilyn Bolton, as well as many loving extended family members, friends and neighbors.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather at Schimunek Funeral Home, Inc. 9705 Belair Rd., Nottingham, MD 21236, on Saturday, August 25, 2018 from 3-5pm and 7-9pm. Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 1pm at the funeral home. Interment services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Ralph’s name to the Senator Bob Hooper House, 2007 Klein Plaza Drive, Forest Hill, MD 21050.
