Richard Donald Ayres Sr.

On June 13, 2021, Richard Donald “Ducky” Ayres, Sr. passed away. He was the beloved husband of the late Mary Theresa Ayres (nee Gargiulo) for 66 years; devoted father of Richard D. Ayres, Jr. and his wife Karen, Raymond F. Ayres and his late wife Rosemary, Louis Ayres and his wife Cynthia, Mary L. Brocato and her husband Frank, Linda M. Morgan and her husband George, Daniel L. Ayres and his wife Elizabeth, Tina M. Most and Michael Brenneman, and Mitchell R. Ayres, Sr. and his wife Denise; loving grandfather of Michelle Wilson, Roxanne Swartz, Matthew Ayres, Raymond Ayres, II, Michael Ayres, Kevin Ayres, Mark Ayres, Angela Carey, Stephanie Nay, Dustin Morgan, Lindsey Morgan, Kristen O’Brien, Alana Beall, Christina Most, Mitchell Ayres, Jr., Ashley Smith, and Anthony Ayres; cherished great-grandfather of thirty six, with one on the way. Richard was predeceased by three brothers and one sister. He is survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the Schimunek Funeral Home, 9705 Belair RD, Nottingham, MD 21236, on Monday, June 21, 2021, from 3-5 PM and 7-9 PM. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 22, 2021, at 11 AM, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Gardens of Faith Memorial Gardens.
