Robert is survived by his wife, Catherine C. Martel; daughter Ann Martel Johnson; daughter Carol Martel Smith and her husband Gerald Smith, Jr.; daughter Sandra Michele Martel and her husband Steven R. Wells; and daughter Barbara Martel Puglisi and her husband Mark J. Puglisi; sister Eleanor McHugh and brother Raymond Martel; grandson Nicholas E. Johnson, grandson Brian B. Smith, granddaughter Kristen M. Smith, granddaughter Elisabeth H. Johnson, grandson Jason R. Smith, granddaughter Caitlin M. Smith, granddaughter Emma N. Puglisi and granddaughter Grace C. Puglisi.

Robert was preceded in death by; son Robert Joseph Martel; brother Charles Martel.

A visitation for Robert will be held Friday, April 6, 2018 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Schimunek Funeral Home, 9705 Belair Rd, Nottingham, MD 21236. A visitation will occur Saturday, April 7, 2018 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM at Oak Crest Chapel, 8820 Walther Blvd., Parkville, MD 21234. A funeral mass will occur Saturday, April 7, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Oak Crest Chapel, 8820 Walther Blvd., Parkville, MD 21234. Interment will be private.
