On October 26, 2026 Ruth Kurlis (nee Butz) passed away. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert E. Kurlis, Sr.; devoted mother of Karen M. Young and her husband Ralph, and Robert E. Kurlis, Jr. and his wife Deborah; cherished grandmother of Kimberly Roberts and her husband David, Michael Young, and Gary Green; loving great-grandmother of Rachel Green. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Catherine Butz, as well as her siblings.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit at Schimunek Funeral Home Inc., 9705 Belair Rd. Nottingham, MD 21236 on Wednesday, November 4, 2026 from 5-7 PM, where a Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, November 5, 2026 at 10 AM. Interment will follow at Parkwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Ruth's name in honor of her love for animals to an animal shelter of your choice.
