On July 25, 2026 Sharon L. Schurtz passed away. She was the daughter of the late Robert Lyle Schurtz and Mary Elizabeth Rosine Schurtz; sister of David Lyle Schurtz and his wife Cynthia Winkleman Schurtz; aunt of David Ryan Schurtz and Anneliese Schurtz, as well as four great-nephews and one great-niece.
Sharon dedicated her entire career to New York City Health + Hospitals. She began her work as an outreach community therapist, serving individuals struggling with addiction. Through her many years of service, she became a respected leader in behavioral health and retired as Senior Associate Director of Behavioral Health at Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn, New York.
Services and interment will be private.
