On September 4, 2018, W. Michael Loughran, a Commercial Law Attorney in San Diego, CA, died from a stroke at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. Mike was born and raised in Kingsville. He graduated from Calvert Hall College High School in 1993, where he played football and lacrosse. He then attended the University of Notre Dame and graduated in 1998. Because of his passion for travel, Michael participated in two semesters abroad. He developed his love for surfing and warm weather during his time in Sydney, Australia. He also became fluent in Spanish while in Granada, Spain. After graduation, Mike moved to San Diego, CA, where he became a computer analyst. After a few years, he decided to change careers and attended law school at the University of San Diego, where he graduated in 2005. He is survived by his loving parents, William and Marie Loughran of Kingsville; his sister and brother-in-law, Jennifer and Glenn Smith, his two nieces Meagan and Katie Smith; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and numerous close friends. Michael was known for his charismatic personality and love of Notre Dame football. GO IRISH!
Family and friends may gather at Schimunek Funeral Home, Inc., 9705 Belair Rd, Nottingham, MD 21236 on Friday, September 7, from 6-9 pm, where a funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 8, at 1 pm.
