

Charles Albert Schuler Retired Police Captain who served 31 years in the San Francisco Department died of a heart attack on October 17, 2012. He was a native-born San Franciscan and loved baseball. He played on local teams and for San Francisco City College before being drafted into the US Army where he served in Korea in the 7th Military Police Company. In the Department he received many meritorious awards, attended and graduated from the FBI Academy, and attended the Army C.O. School BN (Prov.) at Fort Gordon, GA. He was stationed many years at Northern Station and then the Inspector's Bureau. He traveled widely around the world and currently lived in Novato, California. Surviving him are his wife Ruth Wildes Schuler of Novato, his son Steven Schuler and wife Kathleen Barker Schuler of Petaluma, his daughter Jeanne Schuler Farrell and husband Robert of Corte Madera, his granddaughter Monica Marie Farrell attending law school in San Francisco, and his grandson William Farrell attending medical school at University College Cork in Ireland. Also surviving him are his sisters-in-law Barbara Wilson of San Rafael, Carol Lono and husband Victor of Eureka, and Sandra Schuler of Concord, along with thirteen nieces and nephews with their 24 children and grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at Our Lady of Loretto Catholic Church at 10:30, Thursday Oct. 25th at 1806 Novato Blvd., Novato CA. An Interment Service will be held at 9:30, Oct. 26 at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, 5810 Midway Road, Dixon CA 95620.
