James William Frey, 73 of Novato, passed away at home surrounded by his family on May 5, 2014. He was born in San Francisco, CA on October 21, 1940. Jim graduated from Riordan High School in 1958. He married Barbara McAuliffe on November 4, 1961. Jim went to work for Meiswinkel Plastering in 1958. He was a member of Local #66. In 1976 he started his own contracting business. He loved his work. He had a passion for hunting and fishing. He was a devout Catholic, husband and father. Jim leaves behind his wife Barbara of 53 years, 4 sons, 3 daughters-in-law, and eight grandchildren, his sister Ellen and brother Robert. A funeral Mass will be said at 11:00am, May 9, 2014 at Our Lady of Loretto in Novato. A private burial will immediately follow the mass. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Hospice by the Bay in Marin.
