J. Leland "Lee" Embrey Aug. 24, 1917-Aug. 26, 2012 Born in Nash, Okla., he worked 40 years for the Social Security Administration, becoming district manager of San Francisco from 1968-1978. He was active in Kiwanis for more than 50 years and was an elder, choir member and soloist in the Presbyterian Church. He was a Navy veteran and a city league softball player. Preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Esther, he is survived by his children, Marjorie of Novato, Kenneth of Poulsbo, Wash.; Bruce of Spokane, Wash.; and Edwin of San Rafael; grandchildren Heather, Dustin, K.C. and Robyn; great-grandchildren Lucas and Parker; brother Robert, Escondido, CA. and sister Virginia, Tucson, AZ. A visitation will be held Thursday, September 6th, noon-2:00 PM at Keaton's Mortuary in Novato.
