Leo Benelli Passed away peacefully at his home in Novato on July 4, 2014. He was 97 years old. His loving wife of 60 years was at his side. He was born in Santa Rosa in 1916. He grew up on the family farm on Piner Road. He worked for the Northern Pacific Railroad, served in the Navy during WWII. He also worked at the U.S. Steel Plant in South San Francisco, and the Burgermeister, Hamm's, and Budweiser Breweries. He and Jane lived in San Bruno until 1964 when they moved to Novato. He is survived by his wife Jane, his son Allen (wife Sandy), son Liebel (wife Michele), daughter Mary Jane Hutchinson (husband John) and sister Josephine Xerogeans (husband Dino). There will be a viewing at Keatons Redwood Chapel, Novato from 7:00-9:00 PM July 10th, Thursday evening. The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on July 11th. Burial and reception to follow.
