Marguerite Neumann (nee Worosz) passed away Monday morning, October 6, after a short illness, at Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Santa Rosa with her husband of 41 years, Arden (Art) Neumann, at her side. Marguerite was born (1948) and raised in Detroit, Michigan and moved to Chicago in 1971 to start her career in graphic art.
For several years Marguerite was employed as a graphic artist by the Leo Burnett Advertising Agency in Chicago where she and Arden met in 1972. They moved to Novato in 1977 where she established and operated her own graphic arts company, “Marguerite’s Charts” and served San Francisco-based advertising agencies for many years. In recent years Art and Marguerite each completed Associate Degrees in Horticulture and Garden Design that led to their most recent venture with “Artful Gardens” landscaping services.
Marguerite had many friends and acquaintances in the Novato area. She was a longstanding member of the Novato Garden Club and was also an active member of the Barbary Coast Bull Terrier Club during the time Marguerite and Art were raising and showing national champion Bull Terriers. Highlights of her life include travel to Hong Kong and Hawaii, River Rafting in Idaho, Dinosaur digs in Colorado and Mexico, Olympic game trips to Sarajevo, Calgary, and Barcelona and recent cruise ship adventures.
She is survived by her brothers Mark (Nancy), Michael (Terry), and Mathew as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was also dearly loved by her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and their families. There are many fond memories of time spent with family at holiday gatherings in Southeast Michigan and the Lansing area.
Marguerite was well loved by all for her wonderful sense of humor and her outgoing, positive and friendly personality. Friends and acquaintances are welcome to a celebration of Marguerite and her life to be held from 4:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday October 15, 2014 at Inn Marin, 250 Entrada Drive, Novato, CA 94949. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Marguerite’s name may be made to the Santa Rosa Junior College Foundation, “Horticulture Department Scholarship Fund,” 1501 Mendocino Avenue, Santa Rosa, CA 95401.
