

Marion Troxell passed away peacefully on August 3, 2014 at Marin General Hospital after a brief illness. She was predeceased by her husband of 27 years, Sidney A. Troxell. Marion was born in Oakland, California on May 18, 1923 to Donald and Marion Angus. She was the Granddaughter of Franklin and Lillie Devendorf. Franklin was responsible for building the Highland Inn In Carmel. After attending Mills College in Oakland for two years, where she majored in Music and Dance, she went to New York to study and sing in the Opera. She returned to the Bay Area and married in 1947. Throughout her life, Marion enjoyed classical music, Broadway shows, nature and the outdoors. She loved family get togethers and catching up on news about her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her five children, Marion Avina, Brian Taylor, Stewart Troxell, Tom Troxell and Steve Troxell. Marion is also survived by fifteen grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren.
Services will be held on Wed. Aug. 6th at 11:30 a.m. at Keaton's Redwood Chapel, 1801 Novato Blvd. in Novato. In lieu of flower's, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
