Marty was born on March 17, 1932 in San Francisco, California to Martin and Cecelia Troy. He married Claire Maloney in 1961 and is survived by Claire, his four children: Sheila (Steve) Warner, Colleen (Rob) Coffman, Tim (Annie) Troy and Erin Troy. He was a beloved grandfather to Nicole, Stephen, Jon, Brendan, Matthew, Michael, Christopher, Jacob and Nathan and great grandfather to Julian, Josie and Jameson. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Gerald, and his great-grandson Jaxson Warner.
Marty attended Saint Ignatius High School and University of California, Berkeley. He was very proud of his 37-year career, which saw him climb the ranks into leadership positions with the United States Postal Service. In his retirement, Marty enjoyed spending countless hours with his grandchildren and working in his garden. He was an active member of Our Lady of Loretto Catholic Church, serving 10 years as president of the parish council, co-chair of the Renew program, and was Grand Knight of Council 3750 of the Knights of Columbus.
Marty will be sincerely missed by his family and friends who invite all to join them in prayer at services held this Friday, August 3, at Our Lady of Loretto. The Rosary will be prayed at 10:30am, followed by Mass at 11:00. A reception will follow in the parish hall.
